Tickets are now available for Somoh at The Grace!
SOMOH is the solo moniker of London artist Sophia Mohan. Combining elements of bedroom-pop and 90’s indie rock SOMOH’s deeply personal and inviting nostalgic songcraft explores themes of love, hardship, friendships, and family whilst channelling the likes of Beabadoobee, Soccer Mommy and Alex G.
Introduced to the world through debut single ‘I’ve Been Saying This’ and a collaboration with Far Caspian on ‘Warning Sign’. After covering one of his songs on social media, SOMOH struck up a friendship with Irish songwriter and producer Joel Johnston aka Far Caspian, who would go on to produce and mix her debut EP ‘A Plan To Get Home’.
Championed by Clash, DIY, Line Of Best Fit, BBC Radio 1 and labelled a ‘Breaking Act’ by Sunday Times, SOMOH’s second EP will be released March 2024 via Tiny Library Records the independent record label curated by Joel.
“Diving deep into the waters of the current tidal wave of talent on both sides of the Atlantic in the indie singer-songwriter field, SOMOH is a fresh face with a recognisable but unique sound. Her voice is cut from the silkiest of satin, piercing the eardrums and erupting itself within the listener’s soul; she knows you better than you know yourself. There’s a fragility to her songwriting too, a characteristic that immerses itself in her vocality and musicality, clinging tightly to the intensity of the sonics, refusing to let go.” – Line Of Best Fit
“SOMOH has something special. Real name Sophia Mohan, there’s an impeccable innocence to her work that is just overwhelming, retooling 90s alt-rock tropes from a Gen Z angle.” – Clash
