Kilimanjaro Presents :
Live at The Grace
It’s a rare occurrence, but once in a while a fully formed talent emerges, seemingly from nowhere. This is exactly what happened when Emma McGrath released debut EP ‘The Judgement’ in 2014, with BBC Introducing awarding her ‘Track of the Week’ twice over.
2018’s follow up, ‘Silent Minds’, received a similar response with first single ‘Love You Better’ featuring on Spotify New Music Friday US, going viral globally and achieving over 1.8 million streams to date. The EP began a series of three thematically inter-connecting EPs, which continues with ‘Keep Your Eyes Open’ (‘Silent Minds Pt 2’) released on Young Poet Records in January 2020.
Emma first picked up a guitar aged 10 and has been writing songs ever since. Having been by her own admission “not very good at talking”, song writing quickly became a vital means of expression.
Taking musical inspiration from a broad range of influences that reflect both a love of song writing and good pop music, 19 year-old Emma counts Tracy Chapman, Tove Lo, Missy Higgins, Banks and Brandi Carlisle amongst her heroes.
